1. Go in for sports or just take a walk
This advice you have heard many times and most likely will hear again and again. The importance of physical activity is difficult to overestimate. It increases our creativity, self-confidence and emotional stability both at work and in our personal lives.
No matter what you do: if it’s a gym, yoga or a walk in the park – if you want to be productive for eight hours at work, take some time off of your body.
2. Find sources of inspiration and be open to new experiences
In the world around us so much all new and interesting, that it’s just a sin to sit out evenings on your favorite couch. Often get out of your cozy little world and look for inspiration in the most unexpected places: if you are a chef – visit the museum, if the artist – go to a restaurant. The new situation will restart your brain and help you find a solution to long-standing problems.
Home life is good, but look around. Have you seen anywhere a homebody-innovator or the head of a large company, who spend their free time in front of the TV on the couch? We do not.
3. Build relationships with family, friends and colleagues
We do not have enough time even for calls, not to mention meetings with close people and those with whom we conduct business. But live communication in a close circle is much more important, and they should never be neglected. All problems and omissions are eaten by us, do not allow us to concentrate on work and ultimately affect productivity.
To strengthen ties with colleagues and relatives (if everything is so bad) will help a joint dinner or home event. Who knows, perhaps, the attitude of your colleagues that has changed for the better will become a springboard for career growth.
4. Learn to say “no”
Wise people understand that you can not be in several places at the same time and do all the work in one day. Before taking on an additional project, accepting an invitation to a party and agreeing to help a colleague, they ask themselves: “What is the priority for me now? Will I be approached by what I’m going to do, or will it only complicate the task? “
Saying “yes” to an unnecessary business means automatically abandoning hundreds of others, sometimes more important ones. The faster you come to realize this, the better it will be for you.
5. Spend time outdoors
It is difficult to be in good shape when breathe air-conditioned air all day and work under artificial lighting. So you can not only work, but generally live. Purposeful people find ways to unite with nature, in contact with which your strength and energy are replenished.
Nothing prevents you from doing the same thing: go with your family to a picnic, go out of town or just move your workplace to the garden, if you work remotely. The possibilities of mass – you just want to implement them.
6. Be in offline mode
Annoying notices, email and social networks do not give us peace of mind all day and night. And if during the work “out of the air” can not all, then in their spare time to arrange a digital detox for everyone. Successful people are busy with business as much as yours, but they allocate time that belongs to them and only to them.
You can not properly rest, if every few minutes to distract on trills of your smartphone. Disconnect from the outside world, do not spoil your leisure and do not annoy your loved ones – in a few hours of your “silence” the end of the world is unlikely to come.
7. Get evening habits
Everyone knows that the right morning “rituals” depend on your productivity and mood throughout the day. However, very few people know that its completion is no less important. Some people gather with thoughts, scrolling the events of the past day in their heads, others are reading to distract from problems and relieve stress, and someone turns off the phone until morning, so as not to wake up in the middle of the night from late notice.
Pay attention to your evening classes and form your own habits, which will help you to meet a new day full of energy for future accomplishments.
8. Give yourself a real vacation
Bragging that really rested on vacation, can only a few lucky ones. The modern rhythm of life does not allow us to leave work even in private time. Still, even the most important leaders have a vacation. Once they could afford it, so why not do it to you?
If you are such an indispensable employee, then agree with the leadership on at least a few untouchable days or allocate a certain time when you will be available. Rest should be rest!
9. Invest in yourself and learn something new
Getting knowledge and mastering new skills, we not only “pump” ourselves, but also support the mind in a tone, not letting it relax and wither. No matter how serious your training is, the main thing is the process.
Sign up for courses, attend seminars or enroll in a correspondence department in the university for another education. By investing in yourself, you become a more experienced and valuable employee, which will only promote professional growth.
10. Relieve stress and devote time to yourself.
By whom and wherever we work, stress accompanies us everywhere and accumulates, affecting our well-being and productivity. Successful people understand this and use their free time for a healthy holiday, paying attention to themselves.
It can be anything: meditation, yoga, breathing practices. Any lesson that will help you relax and relax.
