Why not take Xiaomi
1. MIUI
In Xiaomi smartphones, instead of the usual Android OS, a modified version of MIUI is installed. If you do not like to mess around with a smartphone, but want it to work, you will not like it.
Digging in the settings will have to even just to be notified. Also you will encounter the fact that the smartphone will brake from scratch, and applications – it’s wrong to work and periodically fly out.
2. Difficulties with flashing
Some of the problems are solved by changing the firmware. Previously, this was done in just two steps, but now the process has become complicated and confusing. In new models the loader is blocked. To unblock it, you need to apply through the site in Chinese and wait for approval.
But even on this adventure will not end. You need to install drivers, special software.
I fumbled with my Xiaomi Mi5 the whole evening, but I did not question him. As a result, I sold and bought the iPhone SE.
3. Low autonomy
Xiaomi has not just turned off push notification in MIUI, but smartphones themselves are equipped with huge batteries. The fact is that the system is poorly optimized and without these measures the devices just would not live up to the evening.
Xiaomi Mi5 with enabled notifications and the Internet via LTE gave out just over three hours of screen work. For a smartphone with an energy efficient processor and a battery of 3,000 mAh this is not enough. Xiaomi Redmi 4 budget characteristics and battery as much as 4,100 mAh, but as a result, the device produces only about five hours of operation of the screen.
4. Advertising and viruses
Xiaomi almost does not make money on smartphones and lives off MIUI, its services and built-in advertising. Constantly appearing in advertisements advertisements – this is abnormal.
And if you buy a smartphone from unscrupulous sellers, then in the system there may be viruses – some incomprehensible applications that constantly hang in memory and go online. The fact is that MIUI has the source code open and it’s very easy to integrate it.
5. Problems at customs
More recently, one more problem for smartphones Xiaomi was arranged by their official reseller in Russia.
Together with wholesale “gray” supplies from China, they limit the delivery of private parcels.
Now order a smartphone from China cheaper will not work, and in third-party stores stocks soon run out. Will have to buy at a very high official price.
Attractive alternatives
Xiaomi not only offers productive iron for little money. The company has enough competitors, whose devices are easier to order from China. In addition, they will not give you so many problems.
Meizu M5s almost in no way inferior to the Redmi 4X, which in the official retail costs 12,990 rubles. The M5s have a metal case, a fingerprint scanner and 3 GB of RAM. Smartphones Meizu also sold in Russia officially, and the prices for them are very biting, for example, the cost of M5s starts at 13,920 rubles. But with delivery from China it can be purchased for only 7,000 rubles. And no one will deploy your parcel at customs.
Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime now costs 15,990 rubles, and for 11-12 thousand in China you can buy Huawei Honor 8 Lite. It will be even more powerful than the Xiaomi smartphone: it has a similar processor, but 1 GB more RAM.
If you need an inexpensive smartphone with a large display, then instead of Redmi Note 4, it’s better to take a closer look at the Meizu MX6 with similar features, less problematic Flyme firmware and a price of 12,000 rubles.
For about 20,000 rubles, the iPhone SE is sold, where the hardware from the iPhone 6s is housed in a compact 4-inch case. For these little money, you get all the advantages of Apple smartphones: fast and regular updates for another 2-3 years, high speed and a high-quality camera. There are two drawbacks: an antediluvian front camera and only 16 GB of memory without the possibility of expansion.
The flagships have even more alternatives. OnePlus 3T is the third Android smartphone after the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 +. It has unloaded firmware, excellent cameras, a high-quality 5.5-inch FullHD display. And the price is about 25 000 rubles.
We can not fail to mention the flagship Huawei P10, which was released at the beginning of the year. It is not even necessary to order from abroad: the official Russian price is 34,990 rubles. But this is a full flagship with a high-quality dual camera and a powerful iron based on the Kirin 960.
And if you need a smartphone with good iron and a big screen, then take a closer look at another Huawei device – a 5.9-inch Mate 9 based on the Kirin 960 processor. You can buy it in China for less than 30,000 rubles.
