Since ancient times man solved this problem with the help of a fire. However, this method requires quite a lot of firewood, the presence of some skills and is not too good from the point of view of ecology and safety. Therefore, they were replaced by modern gas and gasoline burners, which make it possible to solve all the problems with cooking as comfortably as possible. However, this solution also has its drawbacks. For example, if you have a multi-day hike, the weight of gas cylinders or tanks with gasoline can be quite significant, and no one wants to carry an extra burden. Or, for example, you have to fly on an airplane, where, as you know, you can not transport such things, so there is a need to purchase gas and gasoline already in place, which is not always possible.
Therefore, an increasing number of tourists turn to wood stoves.
They combine all the advantages of a fire with the utmost simplicity and comfort of a burner. To use this stove, you need a minimum amount of fuel of almost any kind: wood, branches, cones, leaves and even dry grass. Therefore, use a wood stove can be in any area, except, perhaps, the desert and ice hummocks. And most importantly, it has an excellent efficiency, which allows you to boil a liter of water literally on several dry chips. So, first of all you will have to get three cans of different sizes. The first, the largest, will serve as a shell. The second pot is smaller in size, because it must fit freely in the first. And the last, the smallest, is useful as a hotplate. In addition, we will need a marker, a drill, metal scissors and a small wooden bar.
1. Make the accessory
This wooden bar is not part of the stove, but serves to make it. With its help, it will be more convenient for you to drill holes and perform other operations. Insert the bar into the jar and draw the marker two lines approximately at the level of the lid.
The distance between the lines should be about 7–8 millimeters.
Carefully saw out a rectangular notch. The upper edge of the can should be placed in this recess.
We arrange the wooden bar in such a way that it gives a reliable support for the can. The upper edge should be conveniently located in the notch we made.
First we apply a line along the bottom edge of the can. This line is needed to mark the points for the ventilation holes. In this case, a special dye for marking is used, but nothing will happen if you make it a simple marker.
Along the marked line we drill holes. Their number and magnitude are of great importance for the operation of the stove. If they are too small, there will be no traction, if too much, then the wood will burn very quickly. Therefore, it is better not to overdo it to be able to drill more holes after the tests.
3. Drill a number of holes in the top of the middle jar
We do about the same manipulations with the second jar (smaller in size). Note that here a number of holes are located at the top, and not near the bottom, as in the previous case.
Make a lot of holes in the bottom of the jar. Their size and quantity should be such that firewood could not fall through them.

5. We collect the construction
We put the middle jar in the big one.
As a result, our stove consists of two cans, rigidly inserted one into the other. At the same time, there is a small gap between their walls, which is necessary for air movement.
6. Making a cooking zone

7. We carry out tests
The main part of the wood stove is two tin cans, inserted one into the other. We load into the middle jar combustible material, which can be used as chips, branches, cones. It is best to use dry knots on trees, because the branches lying on the ground can be more or less damp.
We set it on fire and wait until it flares up. At first it can cause some difficulties, however after several trainings it will be obtained from one match.
