Often, developers mark certain apps on the Google Play Store as incompatible with some devices because of the unstable operation of the application on this model. Nevertheless, there is always a chance that the application will still work on your device.
For Android owners, there’s an easy way to fool the Play Store by introducing your device as a different model, which is listed for a specific application in the list of supported. This method eliminates the hassle with the preliminary pumping out the apk file from the market itself.
So, we have a rudimentary Android. Download from the Play Store any file manager, which allows you to access the system files, and allows you to edit them. We used ES File Explorer. After installing the application, go to its settings. You need to enable the access to the root directory, and also set the ability to write to files in this directory.
Now go to the “system” folder and find the “build.prop” file there. Before any manipulations of this kind, it is better to be sure to get worn out, and in this case at least make a copy of the “build.prop” file somewhere on the memory card.
Open the file “build.prop” using the built-in editor of the ES Explorer as a text file.
Google Play identifies the device based on the data recorded in the lines “ro.product.model” and “ro.product.manufacturer”. It remains only to change the values of these parameters. In this case, we replace the old Wildfire with Incredible. After that, we press the button “Menu” and save the changes made.
It remains to erase the data in the Google Play Store app itself. To do this, go to the application manager, find the Play Store there and clean the cache and data. After that it is necessary to reboot the device.
This method does not allow to circumvent the situation when the application is incompatible due to the difference in operating system versions, or because of the country of residence.
