- Seasoning from lemon peel. Zedra, shabby on a fine grater, is a wonderful spicy addition for a variety of dishes. Keep this seasoning in the freezer.
- Lemon pepper. This is a spicy mixture of black pepper, salt, garlic, onion, turmeric and lemon peel. It is used for cooking various dishes, especially good for fish and grilled meat. You can prepare lemon pepper at home.
- Candied fruit. Prepare this favorite since childhood delicacy is easier than it seems. It is necessary to weld the previously soaked lemon peel in sugar syrup, and then dry them.
- Lemon sugar. Many people like tea with lemon. For them there is a new recipe: grate lemon peel, put in a plastic container and cover with sugar. Lemon sugar is also used for making various cocktails.
- “Freshener” for fruit. Sliced bananas and apples quickly turn black to avoid this and for a long time to preserve the “festive” look of these fruits, sprinkle them with lemon juice.
- Lemon and olive oil. If you want to give the usual olive oil a pleasant light aroma of lemon, use the following advice. Cut the lemon zest and place it in a jar of oil. - Lemon ice. Spirals of lemon zest or whole slices of lemon can become an original decoration and a tasty addition for various drinks if you freeze them with water in ice molds.
- “Preservative” for cane sugar. If you put a little lemon peel in a box with brown sugar, it does not damp.
- Lemon cream. Excellent for impregnating biscuits, as well as ice cream and other desserts. The recipe is very simple.

- Cleaning agent. From lemons it turns out an excellent cleaning and disinfectant. To make it, you need lemon peel and vinegar. Lemon peel should be put in a jar, pour vinegar, close the lid and leave for 2 weeks. After 14 days drain the resulting tincture, dilute with water (50 to 50) and you can start cleaning.
- Insect repeller. Ants do not tolerate the smell of citrus, so to get rid of them, pour lemon juice skirting boards, window sills and other places where they hide. Also, lemon is effective against cockroaches and fleas.
- Bleach. Lemon has natural bleaching properties. To give the white cotton things a more fresh look and get rid of some types of stains (for example, rust), add a little citric acid to the car before washing.
- Refresher for the refrigerator. Lemon peel absorbs unpleasant odors, and in exchange “gives” a pleasant citrus aroma.
- Descaling calculator. Over time, scale is formed on metal kettles, as well as plastic heating elements. However, it is very easy to get rid of it. To do this, you need to boil the kettle with citric acid. After that, it should be thoroughly rinsed and boiled again.
- Cleaning the microwave. Many housewives already know this lifhak: take a bowl intended for cooking in microwave, fill it with half water, add a few drops of lemon juice and send it to the microwave for 3-5 minutes at maximum power. Water boils out, condensate forms on the walls of the stove, which then needs to be wiped with a towel. With it, the mud will disappear.
- “Firewood”. Dry lemon peel is excellent. It can be used instead of paper to kindle a fireplace or light a fire.
- An unpleasant odor scraper with a cutting board. Onion, fish, garlic – the smells from these and other products are very corrosive and for a long time “absorbed” in the cutting board, especially if it is wooden. To get rid of unpleasant smells it is possible, having wiped a board of a half of a lemon.
- Sachet. This is a scented pillow designed for deodorizing laundry and repelling moths. Take a cotton bag and fill it with dried lemon zest, cloves, juniper, cardamom and other spices and herbs to your taste. A pleasant aroma for your things is provided.
- Cleaning knives. Knives that do not use for a long time are covered with bloom. To get rid of it, sprinkle the blade with sea salt, and then rub it with lemon zest. Knives will be like new ones.

- Lemon scrub. Lemons are rich in alpha and beta hydroxyl acids, which perfectly remove dead skin cells, in addition, lemons help fight acne, pigmentation and other skin problems. Scrubs, cooked on the basis of lemons, – an excellent refreshing and cleanser. There are a lot of recipes in the network – you can choose one that suits your skin type.
- Cleaning and whitening of nails. Masters of manicure recommend this simple recipe for nail care: in a small cup of warm water squeeze the juice of half a lemon and immerse the fingertips there for 3-5 minutes. After the tray, rub the nail plates with lemon zest.
- Remedy for nausea. If you feel bad and get nauseous, hold in your mouth a slice of lemon – malaise will recede.
- Dry skin of elbows. This means for fighting the dry and darkened skin on the elbows was also used by our grandmothers: you should grease your elbows with cream and rub it with lemon juice, and then, after 10-15 minutes, rinse with water. Then again grease with a cream.
- Clarity of pigment spots. As already mentioned, lemon is a natural clarifier and since ancient times it has been used to combat pigmentation spots and freckles. To do this, lemon juice should be applied to problem areas, left for 10-15 minutes, and then washed off with warm water.
- Lemon tonic. Lemon is an excellent tonic. Tonic, cooked on its basis, will clean, disinfect and refresh the skin. As a rule, lemon tonic is made from mineral water and honey.
- Fresh breath. Lemon juice, diluted in water, can be used to disinfect the mouth and get rid of an unpleasant odor – citric acid kills bacteria. However, after this you need to rinse your mouth with water so that the remaining citric acid does not corrode the enamel.
- Aromavanna. If you add to the water, in addition to foam, a few drops of ethereal lemon oil, then a simple hygienic procedure will turn into a therapeutic one. Such baths perfectly relax, and also help in the fight against cellulite and excess weight.
- Remedy for dandruff. Also “grandma’s” recipe: rub the roots of hair with lobes of lemon 1-2 times a week, then wash your hair in the usual way. Warning: the lemon dries, so this method is not suitable for people with dry and sensitive scalp.
- Inhalation for colds. Lemon essential oil has many healing properties (you can write about this a separate article), one of the applications is inhalation during colds. Dilute the oil in a ratio of 2-3 drops to a glass of water and breathe over the solution for 5-7 minutes.
