The dynamics of pressure changes are vital information. Not only with hypertension. A variety of diseases are somehow associated with blood pressure jumps.
Previously, we had to keep statistics on our own. Not so long ago, blood pressure monitors (pressure measuring instruments) learned to remember the results of past measurements and present them in more or less accessible form: lists, tables. Now it’s the turn of devices synchronizing data with cloud services and applications to create user-friendly reports. We will consider just such devices.
Medisana BU 550
In appearance it is a normal automatic tonometer with a cuff on the forearm. He pumped air, conducts a measurement and shows the result. Medisana BU 550 can store data of 500 measurements (when overwritten, it overwrites the oldest information). Also, the device supports working with two users – for each individual statistics is maintained.
The device has excellent parameters: it is able to measure pressure from 0 to 300 mm Hg. Art. with an error of no more than 3 mm Hg. It can determine the pulse from 40 to 400 beats per minute with an accuracy of 5 units. There is also a function to detect arrhythmias in the device. But its most interesting feature is the synchronization of measurements using Bluetooth with a smartphone. After that, the gadget sends statistics indicating the time of measurement through a special application to the cloud service VitaDock Online, through which you can analyze changes in blood pressure and prevent the development of various diseases.

Medisana BU 575
A simpler version of the previous gadget. True, already humeral, and therefore more accurate than the BU 550. In addition, it is more compact, lightweight and convenient. But with less memory – only 180 measurements for each of the two users. But the device has an alarm clock, which can be set to remind you to measure pressure. In other respects, the gadget works in the same way as Medisana BU 575, thanks to the synchronization with the VitaDock Plus application and the proprietary cloud.

AND UA-911 BT-C
A very common medical device in Russia with fully Russified menu, documentation and application. Works with the offline application AD Connect, designed for smartphones and tablets on iOS and Android (with support for Bluetooth 4.0). The cloud does not communicate and the data does not transmit anywhere.
In its own memory, the device saves no more than 30 measurements, but the program memory is not limited in any way. In the same place, you can build a beautiful visualization of the results and send the received graphs to the attending physician.
True, the device is not suitable for everyone: the pressure measuring range is from 20 to 280 mm Hg. Art. (with an error of ± 3 mm Hg), pulse – from 40 to 200 beats per minute (with an error of ± 5%).

iHealth BP5
The transition link between classical tonometers and modern gadgets. Pulse and pressure measure on the shoulder. The BP5 is equipped with a single button, which is necessary to start the measurement, and a LED for indicating the connection. No screen, no wires – even a built-in battery.
We press the button, and the device itself connects via Bluetooth to the smartphone (Bluetooth 3.0 support is required). Of course, before this you need to install the iHealth MyVitals application, which works with iOS and Android. It allows you to build graphics, monitor health status and send data by e-mail.
The range of the pressure measurement is from 0 to 295 mm Hg. Art. with an error of ± 3 mm Hg. The heart rate range is from 40 to 180 beats per minute with an error of ± 5%.

iHealth BP7
Less accurate, but more compact tonometer for measuring pressure on the wrist. Also different from the BP5 range of measurements: the device is able to measure the pressure from 0 to 300 mm Hg. Art. with an error of ± 3 mm Hg. Art. and pulse from 40 to 180 beats per minute with an error of ± 5%. In the rest – a full copy of the elder brother.

Xiaomi (iHealth) BP3 Labs
From other tonometers is different software platform: this device is intended for use as a component of a smart home – a common software environment developed by Xiaomi. Unfortunately, being one of the first devices of iHealth company, BP3 is the simplest device from the model range.
It is a desktop platform with a cuff connected via a standard connector. A smartphone is inserted into the platform as in the docking station (there are variants of BP3 with connectors Lightning, microUSB and 30-pin output). The smartphone does not charge, but synchronization takes place via Bluetooth.
The device works in conjunction with the original program from iHealth or its version from the application store Xiaomi (translated into Russian version of the application can be found here or here). The pressure gauge measures between 0 and 295 mm Hg. Art. with an error of ± 3 mm Hg. and pulse – from 10 to 180 beats per minute with an error of ± 5%.

Is it worth buying such a device
To buy a similar device or not – you have to decide on your own. AND UA-911 BT-C is not much more expensive than similar devices that do not have a Bluetooth interface. The benefits of detailed statistics for active training or for diseases associated with changes in pressure, of course, there is. Although statistics can be maintained using devices with internal memory, do not forget that its volume is limited. Cloud services and applications allow you to overcome these limitations and maintain a detailed measurement log in automatic mode.
The functions for all the devices described are approximately the same, so when choosing a tonometer with a Bluetooth interface, you should pay attention to the application for working with the device, as well as the dimensions of the device, if you plan to transfer it.
It is advisable to purchase a tonometer in Russia: only this guarantees an obligatory check of the device. Such gadgets are subject to certification, and devices without it should not be used for measurements. In extreme cases, the tonometer should be checked independently: compare its readings with the results of measurements obtained with a medical device (for example, the tonometer of the treating doctor). It should be borne in mind that the errors in the measurements can depend on the mass of the reasons, so it is worthwhile to take measurements from different people.
