I have been fond of needlework since childhood, and I constantly learn new materials and techniques. And since beadwork among them takes the most part, I try to keep abreast of all the news in this area.
For a very long time I had looked at the knitted braids, but since I had never crocheted before, it seemed to me that it was not easy to master this technique. In addition, almost all the skilled workers recommended DB-bead for the development of patterns, and it was made exclusively for Windows.
Since I did not have any desire to use the virtual machine, I began to look for alternative quality programs and came across the Jbead program. I must say, her grades were even better than that of DB-bead. Although it looks, in my opinion, quite the same way.
Unlike DB-bead, Jbead has not yet been translated into Russian, so I would like to clarify some points for those who have not yet used similar programs. Circumference is the width of the bundle, that is, the number of beads that goes into one circle. You can change this amount by going to Pattern> Width.
On the left is a square field on which you will draw your pattern. In the middle is how it will look when the beads are shifted during knitting. And on the right – how he will look at the finished bundle. When you have already drawn your pattern, in addition to the width, the program will display the required number of beads of a particular color, as well as the number of beads in the repeating fragment.
List of beads shows in what order you need to string beads on a string. When I knitted, I began to string beads, starting with the lowest bead. But you can try and with the top. By the way to calculate the length of the thread with beads, you need to use the following scheme: ДН = ДЖ * БК, where ДH – the length of the thread on which you want to string beads, ДЖ – the length of the finished bundle, and БК – the number of beads in the circle.
After mastering Jbead, I chose an interesting pattern for myself, threaded the beads and mastered the technique of knitting with a half-string. Here is the beginning of my work:
And very soon my first knitted tourniquet will be ready. In my opinion, Jbead is a very convenient and useful program for any needlewoman working on a Mac. Jbead can be downloaded for free, and then begin to learn new techniques for yourself. If you have any questions, I will be happy to answer them!
