Infecting a computer with a virus … corrupting the boot sector … removing important system files … – all this, as well as dozens of other equally terrible causes can lead to the fact that on one not a perfect day your computer will simply stop loading. Your electronic friend and assistant will turn into a lifeless piece of electronics, and all the media-industry acquired by overwork will be threatened with death. You can, of course, contact technical support or more knowledgeable friends, but a real lifhooker will choose a completely different method.
Today I will tell you how to create a universal saving tool that can help you out in very many difficult situations. All you need is a little patience, an empty USB flash drive and a free utility MultiBootISOs.
As you probably already guessed, we will create an emergency usb disk from which you can boot and cure your computer of viruses, fix boot problems, restore system files, or in the extreme case save important data.
Work with the utility is performed with just a few clicks. After the launch MultiBootISOs specify the letter of your usb-drive, select the desired program or distribution from the drop-down list and click the button Create. The utility itself downloads the selected tool and writes it to the USB flash drive, making it bootable at the same time. If you want to add another program to the flash drive, then repeat the above steps and a new item appears in your boot menu.
Here are just some of the programs and distributions supported by the utility.
Antivirus:
- Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10
- Avira AntiVir Rescue CD
- AVG Rescue CD
- BitDefender Rescue CD
Managing sections:
- Partition Wizard 5
- Parted Magic
- GParted
Recovery and Diagnosis:
- Trinity Rescue Kit
- System Rescue CD
- Memtest86 +
- Redo Backup and Recovery
Distribution:
- Debian Live
- Linux Mint
- Ubuntu 10.04 / 10.10
- Windows Vista / 7
and much more…
Thus, you can write to your flash drive an antivirus program, tools for managing disk partitions, diagnostic utilities, password recovery tools, portable Linux and much more. Now, in case of an emergency, you effectively reach the saving flash drive, boot from it and fix the problem.
Get busy creating an emergency flash drive right now and maybe tomorrow you’ll say so many thanks to it! ????
