Mi Fit has two versions: international on Google Play and local Chinese in the Mi Store. Both are not without serious flaws. So, in the international there is no training regime. In the Chinese version it is provided: the Running function tracks the run and automatically measures the pulse during the course of the session. But the whole trouble is that the history of jogs, much to the chagrin, is not preserved. More precisely, it is saved, but you will not be able to see the statistics of past training sessions – the application closes immediately when you try to access it. This is due to regional restrictions.
In general, all the charms of the cheap “iron” Xiaomi Mi Band 1S are reduced to zero due to the software. It’s hard to say why developers delay with updates and slow the popularization of their own product. Surely there are good reasons, but it does not make it any easier for us. The only way out is to seek help on the side. And it’s probably worth starting with Mi Band Notify Fitness. For me, this application is interesting primarily because it has a mode of running training. Of course, there are other cool functions, but we’ll start with the race.
Before you start jogging, you must select the frequency of reading: continuously, once a minute or every 5 minutes. This directly affects the graphs that you will see at the conclusion of the lesson. Of course, the more points, the clearer the overall picture.
Between the case I note that the constant recording of readings quickly discharges the bracelet. For 30-40 minutes of running, about 20-30% of the battery charge is eaten. When registering the data with a minute interval – 2%.
And it would have been nice if Mi Band Notify Fitness used the maps and recorded the route of movement. So I turned to the application developer to find out whether it is worth waiting for the map in the future. It turned out that there are a lot of interesting things in the plans.
Detailed statistics of sleep. I want to improve statistics from the official application and add a day sleep tracking to it. Also, if I can, I’ll give a pulse in one chart during sleep and sleep phase so that users can more deeply analyze their sleep. This is the number one task. In the test mode, the function will be available within 7-15 days.
Reminders “get up and move.” Every hour (or any other time interval) the application will remind the person that he needs physical activity.
Advanced training mode. GPS-maps are integrated with the records of training sessions. Different types of activity will be distinguished: running, walking, fitness. This will improve the calculation of calories and other data. Finally, your successes can be shared on social networks (Facebook, Twitter).
Modified sync with Google Fit. Now, many users complain about the incorrect transfer of steps in Google Fit. The problem occurs when Google Fit simultaneously receives data from other devices, such as watches on Google Wear.
Automatic sleep recognition. When a person falls asleep, notifications will be turned off and other functions of the application will be rebuilt.
Smart training. The application will record all user activity at different intervals. When a person is in relative peace, the application will monitor it, for example, every 15 minutes. If there is an increase in activity, the application will take data much more often, for example, every few seconds. So there will be no need to manually start the training mode – the application will do the work itself.
What else would you like to add, but Xiaomi’s limitations prevent it from realizing it?
First, Xiaomi strongly broke off all of us, removing the colored LEDs from the bracelet. Only the white color remains, and this greatly limits the customization of notifications. Of course, you could play and three single-color LEDs, but because of the limitations of firmware it is impossible. Sorry – I would like to set the time interval for switching on and off the LEDs or activate them separately.
Secondly, I want to clarify about the vibrations. Now the vibration can be adjusted, but you can not make them very short or very long. Many users think that this is a flaw in the application itself. In fact, this is not so. This is the grip of Xiaomi.
Still it would be cool to get access to the touch of the bracelet. The user touches the bracelet and controls some functions of the phone. For example, it would be possible to answer calls, switch tracks, activate silent mode or take a photo.
It would be nice to work on the quality of the connection between the bracelet and the phone. Now the Mi Band can for no apparent reason “fall off” of the smartphone, because of what happens overlays in the work of both the official application, and Mi Band Notify Fitness.
Plans are really Napoleonic. Will wait.
But while we return to the present and consider other possibilities Mi Band Notify Fitness.
- Steps. The current activity is displayed and the mobility schedule is plotted for the last hour, day, week, month.
- Pulse. Immediate pulse measurement is started, permanent monitoring is activated with a set interval of time. A circular diagram of the pulse zones is constructed. The vibration of the bracelet is adjusted at too high or low heart rate. The latter is very useful if you are running around in cardiosons.
- Apps. Set notification options for individual applications. Indication of vibration delay, time and modes of ignoring, filters by day of the week and much more – just do not count.
- Calls. By analogy with the applications, settings are set here for notifications of phone calls.
- Reminders. Reminders pop-up on the notification panel of the smartphone according to the schedule are activated. There are ready-made solutions and room for manual configuration.
- Miscellaneous. Alarms are activated and the function “Do not lose your phone” is set.
And this is only a short list of opportunities Mi Band Notify Fitness. However, it should be mentioned that many of them are available only after buying the key. As for me, the investments are justified: training, personalized notifications and reminders are already worth their money. It is especially useful to know the current heart rate to monitor the target heart rate zone during training or to prevent the occurrence of unpleasant heart situations in nervous everyday life. And in the future the utility will become even better.
Finally, let’s talk about stability. Judging by the reviews on Google Play, the application does not always behave predictably on different phones. Someone complains about the total inoperability, but someone indicates the incorrect behavior of individual functions. The author of the program knows this very well.
In general, you will have to test yourself in each case. But before writing to the developer about the problems with the application, restart Bluetooth and switch back and forth sliders in the settings of the application – it can help. Although in my case Mi Band Notify Fitness proved to be the best. I recommend to install and test at least basic capabilities.
