What is microblasting?
When microblasting is called 3D-, 6D- or 8D-tattoo and supplied with epithets “innovative” or “supernatural”, you hang your marketing noodles on your ears.
Microblazing is the creation of a special blade of tiny incisions and the introduction of a pigment into the epidermis.
The essence lies in the name itself: from the English micro – “microscopic” and blade – “blade”. Synonyms can be considered micropigmentation and manual (manual) tattooing.
Microblazing is a kind of hardware tattoo. The difference between them is as follows:
- Tattoo is stuffed with a machine, the needle of which performs back and forth motion due to electricity. Cuttings in microblasting are handmade. She is being manipulated. It is a tool with a tip in the form of tightly adjacent to each other and very thin (0.1-0.2 mm) needles, forming a kind of blade.
- In the usual tattoo, the needle penetrates into the deeper layers of the skin, the manual pigment is introduced only into the epidermis. Therefore, the first keeps two or three times longer.
- Tattooing assumes almost “continuous filling” (although there is a hair technique). And thanks to microblasting you can draw some hairs.
The difference lies also in the composition of the pigment: in microblasting, a mix of dye, water molecule and glycerin molecule is used. In the tattoo, in addition to the paint itself, alcohol is used, which damages the skin, “immures” the pigment in it.
What is microblasting?
Microblueing allows you to adjust the shape and asymmetry of the eyebrows, making them visually thicker and more expressive. At the same time, if everything is done correctly, the eyebrows look natural, almost like real ones.
There are several microblasting techniques:
- European. Hairs are drawn the same length in one direction. Eyebrows look underlined well-groomed.
- Eastern. Hairs draw different lengths in different directions, imitating a natural eyebrow. The effect of a small volume is created.
- Shadow. Hairs are specially painted with fuzzy to create light negligence.
- Powder. The pigment grows so much that it seems that the eyebrows are made up with shadows.
The trend of naturalness in everything led to the fact that the masters are not currently drawing eyebrows, but only fill and restore natural shapes and proportions. In microblasting there are several techniques for creating different effects. But “ordering” a certain kind of eyebrows is not always possible. The choice of the effect depends on the wishes and individual characteristics: the density and elasticity of the skin, its type, porosity, color and others, up to the lifestyle and metabolism.
What are the pros and cons of microblasting?
Like any beauty procedure, microblasting has its supporters and opponents. The first claim that:
- It is very convenient. You do not need to draw your eyebrows every morning with a pencil or shadows.
- It is beautiful. Eyebrows bright, but not vulgar. Natural, but well maintained.
- Microblooding is almost painless and much less traumatic (compared to conventional tattooing). The whole procedure lasts no more than two hours (from the creation of the sketch to the application of the ointment). During the next couple of hours the edema subsides.
Microblasting is designed to save women from slackers. After all, with perfect eyebrows you can get some sleep in the morning. This is an opportunity to look well-groomed for sports and travel lovers, for young mothers, business ladies, busy and active.

“Where then negative reviews and photos with mutilated eyebrows?” – you ask. Firstly, manual tattooing is offered by thousands of masters, and professionals of them are units. And, of course, high-quality manual work is expensive.
Secondly, microblasting requires surgical precision: if you cut a little deeper, a scar appears, and if it’s not deep enough, the pigment will migrate, distorting the lines, and eventually it will go along with the dead cells.
When a vessel is injured, there is a great chance to get a completely different eyebrow color, which you counted on. If the pigment is mixed with iron-containing substances of the blood, it can give a cyanotic hue to the drawn hairs.
Thirdly, after micropigmentation, all hygiene recommendations must be strictly observed. Some girls neglect them.
Minuses of microblasting:
- High price. From five to several tens of thousands of rubles.
- Few good masters.
- Approximately once every six months a correction is required.
- Quite a long period of rehabilitation.
I am not a supporter of microblasting. Because any incision is accompanied by the discharge of blood and scarring. In the case of microblasting, these will be low-visibility micro-scars. But if you consider that the healing of the skin is all individually, where is the guarantee that an ugly scar does not form on the place of the incision? These scars will have to be removed with a laser.

How to choose a microblasting master
The result of microblasting depends on the individual characteristics of the woman: the structure of the skin, the speed of healing and, of course, the professionalism of the specialist. The master must have a firm hand to cut the skin to the same depth.

If we generalize the recommendations of experts, the following algorithm will be obtained:
- Observe the works of the master in general: are your ideas of beauty similar?
- Study the reviews and photos before / after: on the sites of beauty salons, pages of masters, in Instagram (hashtags: # microblading, # microblastingbrews and others). Ideally – talk in person to the girls who did manual tattooing with this or that master, look at their result.
- When you come to the procedure, pay attention to whether the cleanliness in the cabinet and the sterility of the instruments are observed. For each customer must be your pigment and your blade.
- Do not try to save: it’s about your face. Quality microblasting can not cost cheap.
How do microblooding
Before you go to the beauty salon, you need to prepare.
For 10-14 days before the procedure, stop taking antibiotics and hormones. Do not pull out eyebrows during this period (it is important for the master to understand how hairs grow by nature) and do not sunbathe (the ultraviolet dries the skin, the pigment is worse absorbed).
For a couple of days before the procedure, give up alcohol and products with caffeine.
Microboding is carried out in four stages.
- Create a sketch and select a color. You discuss with the master the shape, thickness and shade of future eyebrows. In this case, the individual characteristics of the face and facial expressions must be taken into account. The master uses a ruler or a special compass to draw a pencil sketch. The hairs behind its border are plucked.
- Anesthesia. The master treats the eyebrows with chlorhexidine or another disinfectant solution. Then on 15-20 an anesthetic cream is applied.
- Drawing. The master makes incisions with a manipulum and injects a pigment into the skin. Remains of paint are often rubbed into the eyebrows by micro-scales.
- Completion. The master removes the pigment, disinfects the eyebrows again and applies a special healing ointment.
Keep the master working with gloves, and remove all the tools from individual sterile packages.
How to recover from microblasting
In the first week, it is necessary to treat eyebrows with chlorhexidine and lubricate with “Bepantenum”, other ointments with panthenol or “Actovegin” (some use common Vaseline). Medicinal ointments and moisturizing creams accelerate healing and relieve the feeling of tightness.
Do not rip off any crusts. In 7-10 days they will disappear themselves.
In the first days after the procedure, you should not wash yourself in the usual way, with foams and scrubs. It is better just to wipe your face, avoiding the area around the eyebrows.
The next two to three weeks you can make lotions with a decoction of chamomile and lubricate the eyebrows with burdock oil. But it is much more important to observe taboos during this period.
- You can not scratch and rub your eyebrows.
- You can not do make-up and eyebrow pilling.
- You can not sunbathe, go to the bath and take a too hot bath or shower.
The recovery period after microblasting lasts about a month. After 30 days, you need to visit the master again and (if necessary) make a correction.
Keep manual tattoo from 6 to 24 months. Influences skin type (micropigmentation is more suitable for dry), age, pigment quality, the state of its eyebrows, individual metabolic rate in the body and other factors.
