Recommendations on YouTube have long been not encouraging and leave much to be desired. Most often, the service simply clings to several of the videos you watched, and then offers to watch the rest of the videos on this channel or look at something like that. I do not like this, and here are 3 ways to improve YouTube recommendations.
Removing videos from recommendations
If you see an uninteresting video in YouTube recommendations, you can remove it from there. The service will remember your wish and will no longer show these videos.
To delete a video from the recommendations, you need to click on the icon with three dots and choose “Hide”.
Thus it is convenient to get rid of uninteresting videos on interesting channels. If you need to get rid of the whole channel, go to the next method.
Removing a channel from recommendations
A more cardinal way that removes uninteresting channel from recommendations. In order to do this, you need to point to the icon with three points to the right of the channel’s signature and select “Hide”. Operation is no different from deleting video from recommendations.
Selective cleaning of history
Your watch history also affects the recommendations YouTube shows. And if you once got a couple of funny and stupid videos from friends, be prepared that such videos can appear in the recommendations. If you do not want to do this, you’ll have to delete the watched videos from the story.
Go to the “Viewed” tab, click on the video and see the icon with three dots. Click on it and select “Delete video from the Playlist Browsing History”.
I rarely look at the recommendations tab on YouTube. These tips changed the situation a little. But for the constant effect you will have to do them again and again, although uninteresting video becomes less and less every time.
