PDF – one of the main formats of electronic documents – is currently quite a popular means for exchanging information in the main graphic type. Documents are created in PDF format so that you can not add anything to your source material – it can serve as some kind of data protection. To view this type of file use a free program from Adobe – Acrobat Reader. But even among such software there are competitors, as, for example, the “hero” of our review – PDF Creator X.What is good about the product we are considering compared to the standard Acrobat Reader? Yes, everyone! If you are familiar with the official application from Adobe for Mac, you probably noticed that it has obvious problems with performance. And, frankly, the interface of the program also leaves much to be desired. No matter how I tried, I could not reconcile myself with the constant “brakes” in the interface.
Looking in the Mac App Store, in order to find any alternative, I was surprised: there is a lot of different software, the price tag is different, and there are not so many estimates that you can choose the right program based on them. Nevertheless, my opinion dwelled on the simple name PDF Reader X with the price tag “Free” and a good estimate (even if based on the opinions of only five people). Of course, at first I doubted that this is exactly what I’m looking for. After all, judging by the name, this could be another unsuccessful crafts from developers located somewhere in the center of India. But “for free and vinegar is sweet,” so I decided to try. And not lost.
It does a good job of coping with its functions. But as you know, everything is known in comparison, and if you compare PDF Reader X with the product from Adobe, then the application is really great. Although it just does its job.
Among the interesting features can be noted, for example, working in full-screen mode (hello, Adobe!) And working with text: it can be highlighted, underlined or added your own. In addition, directly in the document, you can add notes and graphic elements (arrows, rectangles). In addition, there are standard functions, such as working with bookmarks, presentation mode or autosaving changes in the document. And most importantly – do not slow down!
On the other hand, there is a reasonable question: “Why should I do this, if the same can perform a standard viewing application?”. I’ve heard that the standard application does not have enough work with the PDF tabs available in PDF Reader X, as well as support for the versioning of the document, which, unfortunately, is deprived of the standard utility.
